Destination Greater Burlington Grant Application

The Greater Burlington Convention & Visitors Bureau is accepting applications for funding of projects and events that significantly promote Greater Burlington as a tourism destination and/or enhance the tourism experience in Greater Burlington.

Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, event planners, community groups, and Greater Burlington residents with a vision for promoting tourism in Greater Burlington. The grant seeks to fund initiatives that will drive visitor traffic, increase overnight stays, and contribute to the local economy. Projects that enhance the experience of current visitors, and thus foster the desire to return to Greater Burlington, will be considered alongside those that demonstrate a clear plan for attracting out-of-town guests and enriching the tourism landscape.

Application Deadline: 5 PM on September 30, 2025

Award Announcements: After November 1, 2025

Program Requirements:

• Project or event must be hosted in Des Moines County

• Project or event must clearly demonstrate ability to promote tourism and/or enhance the tourism experience in Greater Burlington

• Project must be completed and/or event must be hosted between January 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026

• The Greater Burlington Convention & Visitors Bureau will serve as the Grantee

Non-Fundable Expenses:

• Prizes given to event participants

• Payments in the form of wages or bonuses

• Items purchased for resale
