The Des Moines County Farm Bureau Learning Tent will kick off its first year at the Des Moines County Fair July 26th and 27th.
The Learning Tent will be under the Activity Tent on the Des Moines County Fairgrounds. This provides children the chance to get involved with agriculture as farmers on a mock farm. Kids of all ages can meander through the ‘barns’ as farm hands. They will be able to help with chores including milking a cow, collecting eggs from a chicken coop, picking apples, shearing sheep, and more! There will also be a reading corner where you can hang out and read one of our Ag in the Classroom books!
Lots of free, educational fun, for all ages! We are looking for volunteers to help out under the Learning Tent. Email desmoines.county@ifbf.org or call 217-430-2904 to sign up.
