Description

Join your community in celebrating Juneteenth in Greater Burlington!

Juneteenth National Independence Day (June 19) is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved people. It is celebrated on the anniversary of General Order No. 3, proclaiming freedom for enslaved people in Texas.

Everyone is welcome to come together in celebration of freedom at this free community event. With games and kids' activities, delicious homemade food, a basketball tournament, music and dancing, a cake walk and bake sale, and booths from many community organizations, this celebration offers something for everyone!

For more information or to donate, please contact Pastor Fred Starling at Faith Temple Church (319-750-1310) or Lavonna Bennamon (319-750-1309).
