Come to the Port of Burlington and join the countdown to the lighting of the Great River Bridge!
The Burlington Lightscape Project welcomes the community to join the celebration as the bridge lighting project comes to fruition. The lighting ceremony begins at 7:30 PM; come early and enjoy a beverage before the countdown begins!
The lights on the south side of the bridge have been dedicated to Andrew Whitcomb of Dallas City, Ill., and Pearson Franklin of New London — the two men who lost their lives working on the bridge on Oct. 18. The dedication was made with the approval of the families of both men. There will be a moment of silence and remembrance for Andrew and Pearson.
