In the '40s, '50s, '60s and '70s, area middle- and high school kids would gather in downtown spots like the Spider Web and the Y for "mixers" - music and dancing events that brought kids from all neighborhoods together to mix, mingle and dance.
Now The Washington revives that old school tradition with a fun dance night for kids age 14 to 18. $10 at the door; no alcohol will be served at the venue during this event.
