Skunk River Float

Description

Join Lee & Des Moines county conservation organizations for a half-day float on the Skunk River from Welter Recreation Area (Augusta) to Indian Path Park (Wever). This event is recommended for adults and kids age 12 and older.

A limited number of canoes and kayaks are available; paddlers are welcome to bring their own watercraft. Registration is required; $15 per person (registration fee applies even if bringing your own canoe or kayak).

Registration includes:
✔ Expert Guides
✔ Boat use (limited canoes and kayaks available)
✔ Paddle
✔ Life jacket (required)
✔ Shuttle transportation

Participants should dress for getting wet & for weather conditions, and should bring a water bottle, sunscreen and sunglasses/hat.

This float is expected to take approximately 3–4 hours on the water, with additional time for check-in, shuttle transportation, and loading/unloading boats. Please plan for a half-day outdoor adventure.
