The Players Workshop performs Katori Hall’s The Mountaintop for Black History Month.
Set entirely in Room 306 at the Lorraine Motel, the site of King’s 1968 assassination in Memphis, Tennessee (now the home of the National Civil Rights Museum), the one-act play depicts the iconic Civil Rights leader “warts and all,” showing an extraordinary man who was, after all, just a human being - which can't be said for all the characters in this intriguing play!
Three performances: Friday & Saturday, Jan 30 & 31, at 7 PM and Sunday, Feb 1 at 2 PM. Introductory remarks 15 minutes prior to each performance. All three performances are free and open to the public.
Full concessions, including wine and beer, are available at the Capitol.
