Rheinschmidt's Flooring America is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Office Administrator to join our team.

This position combines bookkeeping, office administration, accounts payable, payroll support, and general business operations. We are seeking someone who enjoys working with numbers, staying organized, solving problems, and helping a small business operate smoothly.

We are open to candidates ranging from recent graduates to experienced bookkeeping and office administration professionals. Comprehensive training and support will be provided during the transition from our current bookkeeper to help ensure a successful onboarding experience.


Schedule

  • Approximately 28-32 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule
  • Primarily daytime weekday hours
  • Schedule can be tailored to fit both the needs of the business and the right candidate

This position may be especially appealing to parents, semi-retired professionals, recent graduates, or individuals seeking a professional role with flexibility.


Primary Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Process customer payments and deposits
  • Record accounts payable invoices
  • Reconcile credit card transactions and bank activity
  • Assist with payroll processing and payroll records
  • Prepare monthly reports and account reconciliations
  • Process Iowa and Illinois sales tax filings
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities

Office Administration

  • Sort and distribute mail
  • Maintain office and accounting files
  • Assist with inventory counts and inventory reporting
  • Coordinate routine office maintenance reminders
  • Support ownership and staff with administrative projects
  • Help maintain organized business records

Business Operations Support

  • Review installer insurance documentation
  • Assist with annual insurance audits
  • Track recurring payments and reimbursements
  • Support job costing and commission reporting
  • Assist with special projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Professional communication skills
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Experience with bookkeeping or accounting software preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office preferred
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field is a plus but not required
